ConfirmDOPE Privacy Policy
Effective July 7, 2026 · Last updated July 17, 2026 · Contact: confirmdope.com@gmail.com
This policy describes what confirmdope.com ("the Site"), operated by ConfirmDOPE LLC, a South Carolina limited liability company, collects and how it is used.
What we collect
- Account data: email address, username, password (stored hashed — we never see it), signup date.
- Profile content you choose to add: profile picture, about-me text, badges, and an optional appear-offline setting.
- Content you post: forum threads and posts, comments, deal submissions, published and private Armory builds (photos, parts lists, descriptions, tags), and Intel comments.
- Armory Log entries: per-gun round counts, range-session notes, and maintenance records. These are private by default; the only optional public element is a per-gun lifetime round count you can toggle on or off.
- Stars, favorites, and follows: which builds you've starred and which members you follow, used to power those features and their notifications.
- Activity timestamps: a "last active" heartbeat while you're signed in and the tab is open, used to show online status. The appear-offline setting on your account page hides your online status from other users.
- Private messages: stored on our servers so we can deliver them. See "Private messages" below.
- Notification and email preferences: your per-category choices for bell and email notifications.
- Technical data: IP address, browser type, and basic request logs (kept for security and abuse prevention), plus the login cookie that keeps you signed in.
Uploads and photo metadata
Images you upload (build photos, forum images, avatars) are resized and re-encoded on your device before upload. This strips EXIF metadata, including GPS location, so your photos do not retain location data on our servers.
What we do NOT do
- We do not sell your personal information.
- We do not share your data with advertisers.
- We do not use third-party analytics.
- We do not read private messages unless a participant reports the conversation.
- We do not collect or process payments.
How we use data
To operate the Site: display your content, deliver messages and notifications, show online status per your settings, send the emails you've opted into, prevent spam and abuse (including rate-limiting sensitive actions like login attempts and account deletion), comply with law, and improve the Site using aggregate, non-identifying statistics.
Private messages
Messages are private between participants and not routinely read by staff. They are stored (not end-to-end encrypted) so we can deliver them across devices. If a participant reports a conversation, moderators can view that conversation to handle the report. We may preserve or disclose messages if required by valid legal process.
Service providers
We use third-party processors to run the Site; each receives only what it needs to do its job:
- Supabase — authentication, database, and file storage.
- Vercel — hosting and serverless infrastructure.
- Cloudflare — DNS and content delivery.
- Resend — transactional and digest email delivery.
We may disclose data if required by law, to protect users' safety, or in a sale or reorganization of the Site (with notice).
Public vs. private
Assume forum posts, comments, published builds (with photos and parts lists), profile content, badges, star counts, and online status (unless you enable appear-offline) are visible to others. Builds you publish anonymously show "Anonymous" publicly; moderators can still see the posting account. Private builds, single gear items, and Armory Log data are private to your account, except a per-gun round count you may choose to display. Published builds can also appear in Site-generated share cards and embeds on third-party sites. Your email address is never displayed publicly. Dealer contact info (phone/email on dealer deals) is shown because dealers choose to post it.
Email and notifications
Emails fall into categories you control individually at the email settings page: private messages, replies in your forum threads, @mentions, activity from people you follow, the Deals Digest, and the weekly Community Digest. Each category can be set to instant, daily summary, weekly (where offered), or off. Every email includes an unsubscribe link that turns all categories off at once. Account-security messages (like password resets) are sent regardless because the account requires them.
Cookies
We use essential cookies only: the session cookie that keeps you signed in. No advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. Some outbound retailer links on the Deals page may be affiliate links, as disclosed there; following one can involve tracking on the retailer's or affiliate network's side (governed by their own privacy policies), but it adds no cookies or tracking on our Site.
Retention and deletion
We keep your data while your account exists. You can delete your account yourself at any time from your account page: the flow confirms your password and takes effect immediately. What happens:
- Deleted: your profile, email address, avatar and uploaded files, private and published builds (including photos, parts lists, and Armory Logs), your deal submissions, your comments on builds, your stars and follows, and your notification settings.
- Reattributed: your forum threads and posts remain (to preserve conversations others participated in) with the author shown as "deleted user."
- Retained, de-identified: moderation and enforcement records are kept with your identity removed, for recordkeeping, abuse prevention, and legal compliance. Your sent private messages are replaced with "message removed"; the conversation remains for the other participant.
- A one-way, non-identifying hash is logged so we can prove the deletion happened.
You can also request deletion or ask questions by email at confirmdope.com@gmail.com.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (e.g., California and other states with privacy laws), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal data, and to not be discriminated against for exercising them. Email confirmdope.com@gmail.com and we'll honor valid requests.
Age
The Site is for adults 18+. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18 (and never under 13). If we learn we have, we'll delete it — contact us.
Changes
We'll update the last-updated date above and announce material changes on the Site. Continued use after changes means acceptance.
